I will know that I am home again
      when I reach the land
      where trillium bloom.
I will live with the white-tail deer
in a house of moss and humus.
I will watch the stars again at night,
      and launch lightening bugs from
the palms of my outstretched hands.
I will know that I am home again
      when I laugh  aloud,
and the ancient Sky laughs back.

Glenn Simonelli wrote a chorale piece for male choir based on this poem. The score is available at reallygoodmusic.com for a nominal price.
